Planning an outdoors wedding in a large white tent? Here are some decorating ideas that will help transform that blank canvas into your dream venue.
Lighting. Lighting is an inexpensive way to customize a space and it packs a lot of punch. Consider changing the colour of the tent to suit your wedding colours with uplighting, or perhaps just the area behind the head table to make it a focal point. You can try lighting the space with a pattern or even your monogram. Using mini lights can make a tent sparkle, and hanging tea light or oil lanterns give the space a vintage feel. Feeling even more creative? Try lighting mason jars and hanging them.
Draping. Draped fabric when done right can be beautiful. It makes a space feel rich and luxurious. Fabric can become extremely costly, but it doesn’t have to be. Don’t feel like you have to go to the fabric store. We acquired organza from a florist and several local décor companies have fabric for draping.
Drop Down Décor. By now most of you have thought of using paper lanterns. They are a wedding tent staple for a reason. They are inexpensive, easy to hang and add lots of visual interest. When we use them we prefer to light them. The lit lanterns provide a soft romantic glow. Some other suggestions: chandeliers, glass ornaments, upside-down umbrellas and paper or tulle flowers,
Your venue won’t allow you to hang things from the ceiling? Believe us, this is not unheard of. Try using the paper flowers as a focal wall. I think they are stunning.
